WHITE-COLLARED KINGFISHER

(Halcyon chloris) Medium : Watercolor

This is commonly known as "pasaksak" in our country the Philippines. It is one of the most common kingfisher in the Philippines and most part of South-east Asia. They were mostly found among mangroove trees along the seashore or inland on nearby ponds, rivers and even fishponds always on the alert and ready to swoop on unwary fishes below. This species is widely distributed from the Middle-east to Western Pacific to South-east Asia.
